Forever

When the morning sunrise shows itself

I watch as the city wakes and begins the day

As I walk along, I gaze,

I gaze at our beautiful sparkling sky

And I cringe as I notice the factories,

The factories billow smoke from its stacks

I walk along until I can see the city no longer

I look upon, and shed a tear

Our sparkling river is no longer

I run away before I can cry

But no matter how hard I try,

I cannot escape the destroying city.

My nose wrinkles, as I smell the pungent air

I run until I reach the forest

I watch the animals as the run away

And all I can think is, “you can’t blame them.”

As the city sleeps

My thoughts wander

As I wait for a better day

My Science Fair Experience

I Won The Science Fair!

On just a normal Saturday afternoon when I got a call saying that I won the citywide Science Fair. Okay pause the story. Rewind. On a Friday, the last day on 1st quarter, 5th period. My science teacher let us know that there would be a science fair and it would help us raise a full letter grade up. Then I had a good grade but I was willing to do to it anyway. I came up with the topic to do a test about how much vitamin C is in different kinds of fruit. As I was working, I thought that no way that I was going to win this thing. Fast forward. I came home from school and my parents had told me that I had won in my category for my school and I was going on to the citywide competition. Later, I won!

The Universe

Since the beginning of time,

throughout all the ages,

we have wondered,

How did the universe form?

Past our sun,

Beyond our galaxy,

Amid the stars,

Are there others like us?

Regarding everyone,

underneath our skin,

within our hearts,

there is curiosity.
